About Foxford

Foxford is a small town some 16km south of Ballina in County Mayo, western Ireland. It nestles between the Ox and Nephin mountains and stands on one of the most famous Salmon fishing rivers in Europe, the River Moy. Foxford is also just a stone's throw from Loughs Conn and Cullin, two beautiful Loughs famed for their brown trout.

Foxford is circled by the Foxford Way, an 86km long tourist trail that traverses the Ox Mountains, roads, boglands, archeological sites, lakeshores, and river banks. Foxford also is known for the Foxford Woollen Mills. The town grew up around the mills in the 1890s, which produce the famous Foxford blankets.

Most of all though - Foxford is surrounded by beautiful scenery.
